Show Choirs

The varsity show choir at Lincoln East High School, Express meets each school day during 8th period and performs in the biennial Night at the Acropolis event in November, Show Choir Showcase, and at various show choir competitions across Nebraska and the Midwest each year. Made up of 10-12th grade men and women, Express also performs with members of East Singers in several concert choir performances. Members of Express are strongly encouraged to enroll in East Singers or Jazz Choir in addition to show choir to further develop their musical knowledge and ability. Auditions for Express take place annually each February for the following academic year.

East’s select women’s show choir, Elegance meets each school day during 3rd period and performs in the biennial Night at the Acropolis event in November, Show Choir Showcase, and at various show choir competitions across Nebraska and the Midwest each year. Elegance also performs with members of other East choirs in LPS’s District Music event in the spring. Made up of 10-12th grade sopranos and altos, members of Elegance are strongly encouraged to enroll in 10-12th Treble Choir, East Singers, or Jazz Choir in addition to show choir to further develop their musical knowledge and ability. Auditions for Elegance take place annually each February for the following academic year.

The prep show choir at East, Elevation is open to 9th-12th grade men and women and rehearses as an extra-curricular ensemble, meeting several days a week outside of the school day. Elevation performs at Show Choir Showcase and at various show choir competitions across Nebraska and the Midwest each year. All members of Elevation are required to enroll in one of our curricular concert choirs for the academic year to develop their musical knowledge and ability. Auditions for Elevation take place annually each spring for the following academic year.

Espionage is the Show Choir Show Band at East High School. Made up of 31 freshman-through-senior student instrumentalists, Espionage plays for Elevation, Elegance, and Express.
